τὸ μὴ θανεῖν in acc. with τεύξεται: cp. Aesch. Ch. 711“τυγχάνειν τὰ πρόσφορα”: O. C. 1106 (n.): fr. 824 “καὶ τὰ καὶ τὰ τυγχάνων”. This comparatively rare constr. has here been influenced by “αἰτουμένη”: though it is unnecessary to refer the acc. to the partic. only, or to understand, ‘will successfully ask.’ See, however, Her. 5.23 “τὴν παρὰ Δαρείου αἰτήσας ἔτυχε...δωρεήν”: 9. 109 “πάντα γὰρ τεύξεσθαι αἰτήσασαν”: where, in both instances, the acc. depends on the partic. only.—We could not well take “τὸ μὴ θανεῖν” here as=“ὥστε μὴ θανεῖν” (like “κωλύω τὸ μὴ ποιεῖν τι”).
