οὗτοι after the collective “ὅστις”: Xen. Oec. 7. 37“ὃς ἂν κάμνῃ τῶν οἰκετῶν, τούτων σοι ἐπιμελητέον πάντων.” διαπτυχθέντες, when laid open. Cp. Eur. Hipp. 984 “τὸ μέντοι πρᾶγμ᾽, ἔχον καλοὺς λόγους, ι εἴ τις διαπτύξειεν, οὐ καλὸν τόδε”. Andr. 330“ἔξωθέν εἰσιν οἱ δοκοῦντες εὖ φρονεῖν ι λαμπροί, τὰ δ᾽ ἔνδον πᾶσιν ἀνθρώποις ἴσοι”. Also “σκόλιον” no. 7 in Bergk Poet. Lyr. (from Athen. 694 C, etc.) “εἴθ᾽ ἐξῆν ὁποῖός τις ἦν ἕκαστος ι τὸ στῆθος διελόντ᾽, ἔπειτα τὸν νοῦν ι ἐσιδόντα, κλῄσαντα πάλιν, ι ἄνδρα φίλον νομίζειν ἀδόλῳ φρενί”. The image might be suggested by various objects,— a casket, tables, fruit, or the like.—Cp. Shaks. Rom. 3. 2. 83(of Romeo) ‘Was ever book containing such vile matter So fairly bound?’ κενοί, sc. “ὄντες”: cp. 471.
