Par′al-lel lathe.

A small bench-tool for dentists', jewelers', and watchmakers' uses. As shown, it is capable of running five corundum stones, a brush, and a drill at the same time. It has a castiron frame, with steel spindle and axles, and weighs about eight pounds. It is adjusted to the table or work-bench by a screw-clamp. The collars that retain the grindstones are made of wood, and the lengths are proportioned according to the requirements of the operator.
