καλῶς, ‘speciously.’ This is clearly a case in which L has preserved a true reading which the other MSS. have lost. Teucer means, ‘It might seem to be the judges' doing, while it was really yours.’ The common reading κακῶς misses this point. For “καλῶς” in a bad sense, cp. Ant. 1047（“λόγους”) “αἰσχροὺς καλῶς λέγωσι τοῦ κέρδους χάριν”. κλέψειας κακά, commit furtive knaveries; see on 189 “κλέπτουσι μύθους”.
