Book LXII.

The consul, Quintus Marcius, [Y.R. 634. B.C. 118,] subdued the Stonians, an Alpine nation. Micipsa, king of Numidia, dying, bequeathed his kingdom to his two sons, Adherbal, Hiempsal, and Jugurtha, his nephew, whom he had adopted. [Y.R. 635. B.C. 117.] Lucius Caecilius Metellus subdued the Dalmatians. Jugurtha went to war with his brother Hiempsal; vanquished him and put him to death; drove Adherbal from his kingdom, who was restored by the senate. [Y.R. 636. B.C. 116.] Lucius Cecilius Metellus, and Cneius Domitius Ahenobarbus, the censors, expelled thirty-two senators. [Y.R. 637. B.C. 115.] Disturbances in Syria are recorded.
