Sorgho syrup

--The Charleston Courier in quires:

"Have any friends observed the ill effects from the use of sorgho syrup bottled in copper vessels?"

To which the Atlanta Intelligencer replies.

"We have found out two of its ill effects and that is making the teeth as black as ink, and if eaten too heartily causing the diarrhoæ. Are these the effect meant by the Courier?"

The Republican says that the chief complaint against its use in Savannah is the depletion of one's pocket.
