10. ὑπὸ μὲν ἡδονῆς. The antithesis is not expressed by a δέ
clause but in ἐκείνῳ δὴ—τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ below.
11. μετείληφεν: the subject is ἡδονή and τὸ ἀγαθόν is in
apposition to ἄλλο ὄνομα. ἀντὶ τῆς ἡδονῆς means ‘in place of
pleasure’, i.e. the name pleasure.
