λῆξαι. The subject to the inf. is “τὸ κακόν”. When the pain is subsiding (“ἐξίῃ”), the patient falls asleep; and it is only by sleep that the pain can be wholly allayed (“λῆξαι”). The schol. explains “λῆξαι” by “τῆς ὀδύνης παύσασθαι”, as if the subject were “με”: but where “λήγω” is so used the gen. is commonly added, as in Ai. 274“ἔληξε...τῆς νόσου”.
