εὐστόλου, here prob., ‘well-equipped’; though at v. 780 “εὐσταλής” (the commoner form) = ‘expeditious.’ Cp. Apoll. Rh. 1. 603“ὄσσον ἐς ἔνδιόν κεν ἐΰστολος ὁλκὰς ἀνύσσαι”.—For the double epithet, without copula, cp. Hom. Od. 7. 34“νηυσὶ θοῇσι πεποιθότες ὠκείῃσι”: Soph. Ai. 710“θοᾶν ὠκυάλων νεῶν”.
