The St. Louis municipal election.
--The municipal election in
St. Louis on Monday passed off with remarkable quiet, notwithstanding the deep and general interest manifested in the result.
The only disturbance of note occurred in the ninth ward.
A man, while endeavoring to seize hold of a flag upon a carriage, was arrested by a policeman.
The crowd made an effort to rescue him, when a scuffle ensued, during which the policeman's pistol was accidentally discharged.
The ball grazed the back of the man's head, but did not inflict a serous wound.
The result of the vote was an overwhelming and complete triumph over the"Black Republican and Unconditional Union" candidates by majorities ranging from 2,500 to nearly 3,000--every ward except two voting against the latter ticket.
