Financial and Commercial.

Since our last report specie has gone up considerably. We now quote $15 as the buying, and $16 as the selling price for gold. Sliver is bought by the brokers at $12, and sold at $13.

Bank Notes.--Southern bank notes are bought by the brokers at $2.75, and sold at $3.

Bonds and Stocks.--At the auction sale of Lancaster & Co., on Wednesday, bonds and stocks commanded the following figures: Confederate 8 per cent. coupons, 1881, 114; do., 1871, 112; registered bonds, 1868-'9, 110; convertibles, 113 to 115; 15 million loan coupons, 190; do. registered bonds, 152½ to 155; Virginia registered bonds, 1891-'94, 253; do., 1890, 255; do., 1887, 257; registered bonds, past-due, 197 to 198, North Carolina 8's, coupons' 235; city of Richmond 6's, 246; Lynchburg coupon bonds, 255; Norfolk bonds, registered, 165 to 166; Alexandria coupon bonds, 255; Va. and Tenn. railroad bonds, second mortgage, 242; Va. Central railroad bonds, second mortgage, 245; Va. Central railroad dividend bonds, 6 per cent., 210; R., F. and P. railroad 7 per cent. convertibles, 253; do. 6 per cent., 205; Orange and Alexandria railroad bonds, first mortgage, 6's, 230; Manassas Gap railroad, first mortgage, 6's, 150; Orange and Alexandria railroad stock, 56; Richmond Importing and Exporting Company, 930 to 960.

Grain.--The receipts of Grain are still very light. We have heard of sales of Wheat ranging from $10 to $15 per bushel, according to quality — the latter figure for a choice article. Corn is selling at from $15 to $18 per bushel, and very little in market.

Country Produce and Vegetables.--Bacon, hog round, $2.75; Lard $2.50; Butter $3.75; Eggs $2; Irish Potatoes $8; Sweet do. $10 to $12; Tallow Candies $3.75 to $4; Salt 40 to 45 These are the wholesale rates.

In the city markets fresh meats are worth $1.25 to $1.50 for Beef and Mutton, and $2 for Pork; Chickens, $6 to $8 per pair; Ducks, $7 to $8 per pair; Butter, $4.50 to $5 per lb.; Sweet Potatoes, $2.50 per half peck; Irish Potatoes, $2 per half peck.

Groceries.--Coffee, wholesale, $9 per lb.; retail, $10; Sugar, $3 to $3.25; Sorghum Molasses, wholesale, $12 per gallon, and $14 to $15 at retail.

Liquors.--Whiskey, $55 to $65 per gallon; Apple Brandy, $45 to $50; high proof Rum, $50; French Brandy, $80 to $100.

Leather.--The supply of Leather in the market is somewhat improved. We quote Sole Leather $6.50 to $7.50 per lb.; Upper do., $7.50 to $8; Harness do., $5.50 to $6; Slides are quoted at $2.50 to $2.75 for dry, and $1.50 for salted green; Tanners' Oil, $4 to $5 per gallon.

Tobacco--The demand for the different brands of Tobacco is improved, and prices tending upwards.
