Trouble among the Floridians.
--The Tallahassee
Floridian and Journal mentions a rumor to the effect that the
Governor of that State intends to set at naught the ordinances of the State Convention, and to ignore its existence.
From the earnestness with which the
Floridian argues and protests against such a course on the part of the
Governor, we infer there is something more than mere rumor of his intentions.
Though not clearly stated in anything we have seen on the subject, the controversy, we infer, has arisen out of certain action on the part of the
Convention which the
Governor maintains was not embraced in the objects for which it was specially called.
The appointment of an ‘"Executive Council, "’ we apprehend, has originated the trouble, the
Governor, doubtless, considering himself amply competent to take charge of affairs of State without any such assistance.
