--An intelligent gentleman, who is well acquainted with the process of manufacturing potash, informs us that the bagasse of our planters is largely charged with the constituents of potash, and that our planters, by saving all the ashes from their burners, might prove very valuable in the present great scarcity of potash and that our planters, by saving all the ashes from their burners, might prove very valuable in the present great scarcity of potash and the high price of soap.
