"Bounty Jumpers."

--The Sunbury (Pennsylvania) American, in speaking of deserters and bounty jumpers, says that ‘"one thousand deluded individuals, among them many deserters from the ranks of the army, had assembled in Fishing Creek township, armed and equipped for defence in case of an attack. They entrenched themselves on the side of a mountain, with four pieces of artillery, but General Couch marched against them with five hundred and eighty men, and they succumbed without firing a shot."’
