Yankee humbug.

--The genius of the Yankees for humbug has never been so wonderfully and successfully displayed as in the present war. They have exaggerated their numbers with such ingenious and steady falsification that the whole world has been imposed upon, not even excepting our own people.--Whilst outnumbering us always, they have never had the numbers in the field they pretend. Even their naval power has been magnified a hundred times. If it be as great as they pretend, why is the United States flag almost banished from the sea by two Confederate cruisers? Why is their whole navy unable to overtake and capture two little vessels? We believe they have done their worst, and can raise no more such armies as they have raised, and that even these, though three times our own numbers, were never as great as they pretend.
