From Suffolk.

‘ During their stay a great many fresh depredations were committed, and the citizens in town and the surrounding country were greatly annoyed. The store of James B. Norfleet was broken open and robbed. A steamer came up and took off all the remaining furniture from the residence of Nathaniel Riddick, Esq. The handsome family residences of Henry Riddick and the Rev. Wm. B. Wellons suffered more than at any time before. The residence of the latter gentleman was occupied by them, and the fencing around the yard and flower garden, which had been previously miraculously preserved, was destroyed and the houses much abused. Joseph Little. Thomas Locksey and Jas Harrison, enrolling officers for Nansemond county were captured. These soldiers were all from the Sixteenth Virginia Regiment. Mr. Little lost about $2,000 in tin, which he was removing when he was captured. John C. Cohoon, Esq., one of the oldest and most prominent citizens of Nansemond county, died a few days since.
