--The depredations of thieves in the city are becoming too frequent for the comfort of a well ordered community. Clothing, poultry, pigs, and anything else they can lay their unrighteous hands upon are unceremoniously appropriated by these speculators on other men's capital. The best preventive is a flint lock on the door and a big dog in the stable yard.
