From Jackson's command.

We have intelligence as to the position of Jackson's command as late as the 15th inst., but his movements are so sudden and unlooked for that any statement of his present locality would be nothing better than conjecture. Fremont's command was to have fallen back to Harrisonburg. A rumor prevailed in Staunton on Sunday last that Shields having been reinforced by 15,000 men, was again advancing. On Saturday the enemy was attacked and routed by our cavalry between Harrisonburg and New Market, with a loss of a considerable number of prisoners. The Yankees opened a fierce cannonade, but we have no casualties to report on our side.
