--The river water now furnished citizens from the public hydrants resembles the essence of distilled brickbats, a vast deal of ‘"up country"’ clay entering into its composition. The people living on the margin of the river must have lately been abundantly blessed in the way of water. The river looked swollen and angry yesterday, and like the price of provisions, was, ‘"on the rise."’
