ἃ μὲν τοίνυν ἀδικούμενος, ὦ ἄνδρες δικασταί, ὑπ᾽ αὐτῶν τὴν ἀπογραφὴν ἐποιησάμην, δεδήλωκα ὑμῖν: ὡς δ᾽ ἔστιν Ἀρεθουσίου τὰ ἀνδράποδα ταῦτα καὶ ὄντα ἐν τῇ οὐσίᾳ τῇ ἐκείνου ἀπέγραψα, ἐπιδείξω ὑμῖν. τὸν μὲν γὰρ Κέρδωνα ἐκ μικροῦ παιδαρίου ἐξεθρέψατο: καὶ ὡς ἦν Ἀρεθουσίου, τούτων ὑμῖν τοὺς εἰδότας μάρτυρας παρέξομαι.“Μάρτυρες”
