2. set free from labour, esp. of men and animals dedicated to a god, Hyp.Fr. 72; “θηρίαPhilostr.Im.1.28, cf. App.BC1.110; of land, consecrated and lying untilled, Ael.NA11.2, Poll.1.10.
3. metaph., τὴν τῶν μειρακίων ὁρμὴν ἄνετον εἴασαν νέμεσθαι f.l. for ἄφ- in Plu.2.12a; uncontrolled, licentious,ἐξουσίαHdn.2.4.4; intemperate,ἁμάρτημ᾽ ἄνετονPhld.Lib.p.60.
