ture of arms. We are informed that Col. James D. Nance, with his regiment, the 3d South Carolina, portions of other regiments of Kershaw's brigade, and a detail of one hundred men from Gen. A. P. Hill's division, was sent on an expedition to Shirley last Thursday, expecting to attack the enemy at that point, and capture a number of arms left there by the enemy in their precipitate retreat.
