, 1863. To Gen. S. Cooper: The following dispatch has just been received from Brig.-Gen. Chalmers: Byhalia, Oct. 12.--We have torn up the railroad in four places and attacked Colliersville yesterday morning. Gen. Sherman, with part of Smith's brigade, en route for Corinth, arrived as we did. We drove the enemy into their fortifications, burned their camp, with considerable stores, and thirty wagons.
