s. Mr. Garland, of Arkansas, offered a resolution instructing the Clerk to purchase $500 worth of stationery for the use of the House, and that he be instructed to draw his warrant upon the House for the payment of the same out of the contingent fund. Mr. Smith, of Virginia, moved to lay the resolution upon the table. Motion agreed to. The Chair announced the names of the following gentlemen, who compose the Committee on Rules: Messrs. Curry of Alabama, Lewis of Georgia, Perkins of La., and Jones of Tenn.
