The fact is that nothing of the kind has ever been done yet anywhere. A single collection from the Minho would be sufficient, say from Orense or Melgaqo. From the northern rivers along the gulf of Biscay all that would be necessary would be one thoroughly complete collection from one of the little rivers that come down from the mountains of Asturias, say from Oviedo. The Ebro would require a more elaborate survey. From its upper course, one collection would be needed from Haro or Frias or Miranda; another from Saragossa, and one from its mouth, including the minnows common among the brackish waters near the mouth of large rivers. Personal. --A letter from Havana to the N. Y. Tribune says: "The famous diamond wedding has turned out, as every one expected, badly. Mrs. Oviedo is now in town, and I am told a separation has been effected; he to pay $4,000 per annum, and Mrs. O. to live in the States. She has had an unhappy time of it."

The Delaware Legislature has rejected the proposed amendment to the Constitution by a three fourths vote in the Senate, and a two-thirds vote in the House. Washington A. Bartlett, formerly an officer in the United States navy, and father of the young lady whose marriage a few years ago to Senor Oviedo, of Cuba, was known as the "Diamond Wedding," died on Monday, aged forty-nine years. In 1861 he was actively engaged in fitting out a naval brigade, but subsequently left the service. That part of Virginia which is represented at Alexandria, by whatever name the Yankees call it, "ratified" the abolition amendment by its "Legislature" on Wednesday. The report about Dr. Gwin having been made a Duke, etc., by Maximilian is pronounced a canard, and had caused much merriment in Havana.
