nd arrived safely in Richmond by the Central train last evening. The report that he reached his father's residence, in Amherst, on last Sunday, was therefore erroneous. It was reported yesterday evening that the raiders had again returned to Orange, and were threatening the lines of railroad communication. A Yankee schooner captured. On the night of the 17th of September, Acting Master John Maxwell, of the Confederate States navy, in connection with Acting Master Hines and Captain Moore and two men, attacked the Yankee schooner Jane F. Durfee, on Warwick river, capturing her, together with eight men. The vessel was bonded and the crew paroled. Warwick river is in Warwick county, Virginia, below York county.
