--A man by the name of Patrick Jacobs got himself in considerable of a difficulty yesterday by stealing a silver watch worth $29, from Lewis H. Strom. Messrs. Gentry and Blankinship, of the police force, being informed of the unauthorized use attempted to be made by Jacobs with Strom's time-piece, hunted him up, and laid him by the heels in the cage to ruminate on the truth of the old adage that doubtful things are very uncertain.
