Our men pressed vigorously upon the enemy and drove them back, their cavalry leaving that part of the field and not appearing again until attacked byms. The blood they so freely poured out proved their devotion to their country, and serves to hallow a just cause with glorious recollections. Their success was that of citizen soldiers.
