Mr. Clemens had no objection to the reading, though all were s had been intimated by the gentleman from Ohio, (Mr. Clemens.) He offered it as a Union man — a better Union memarks on the resolution which he submitted. Mr. Clemens desired to offer an amendment to the resolution. Mr. Turner raised a point of order, and Mr. Clemens said the rule required him to reduce it to writing, on previous question, which was not sustained. Mr. Clemens renewed the resolution previously offered by Mr. e Chair decided that the motion was in order, and Mr. Clemens appealed from that decision. Mr. Price, of Greenbrier, and Mr. Conrad, of Frederick, appealed to the member from Preston to withdraw his call for a division, which he consented to do. Mr. Clemens, of Ohio, said, as the gentle-from Harrison, who offered the competing proposition, was absent, he hoped the Committee would withdraw the substitute, by generaling out and inserting, he would be compelled to vote against it. Remarks were made by Mr. Fisher, of Northampton, in favor of taking the vote at once. Mr. Clemens renewed the call for a division of the question, but Mr. Harvie objected, and the Convention sustained the objection. Mr. Early did not want his vote to beference propositions. He was willing to take those propositions unamended, but he would not vote for them in competition with the report of the committee. eered the Southern Confederacy flag, which was borne by Ensign Ells, of the Clinch Rifles, and requested him to allow them to take charge of it, while he and his company were bidding adieu to their friends. Of course, the request was complied with, and the beautiful emblem of Southern independence was conveyed to the fair hands of those patriotic ladies. The Warrington correspondent of the Pensacola Observer says the Alabama Regiment has been transferred to the Confederate States by Gen. Clemens; Col. Clayton has been reelected Colonel; Williams, Lieutenant Colonel; Steadman, Major. A man was shot at the redoubt on the night of the 27th, in attempting to pass the sentry without the countersign. He died soon afterwards. No blame is attached to the sentry, who only discharged his duty. The deceased was a member of the "Red Eagles," Capt. B. L. Posey. The steamer Kate Dale arrived at Warrington on the 28th from Mobile, with large quantities of provisions, five hundred stand
