r. Macfarland moved to amend Mr. Scott's amendment by striking out the word "and" after the word "Missouri," indicating his purpose to move a further amendment by adding "and Virginia." The Committee refused to strike out. Mr. Slaughter, of Campbell, moved to amend Mr. Scott's amendment by striking out all after "And," (the first word,) and inserting "also to cause Conventions similar to this to be held in each of said States, to meet on the day which may be fixed for the re-assembling of tion, which was not agreed to. he movement of the Southern States, and who will use every means of uniting with them the destinies of Virginia. Resolved, That we approve of the course of our present representative in the Virginia Convention, and also of our late delegate in the Legislature, by saying, "Well done, good and faithful servants, you needed no instructions to do your duty. " Resolved, That the opinion of this meeting is unanimous in favor of immediate secession. A very large meeting was held at Campbell C. H., on the 8th inst., which was addressed by Hon. Thos. S. Bocock. Robert C. Saunders and Robert J. Davis were nominated for the House of Delegates.
