At a meeting of the officers of the First Regiment North Carolina Volunteers, now stationed at Camp Fayetteville, near Yorktown, Va., on motion Capt. C. M. Avery was called to the Chair, and Lieut. R. Mallett was appointed Secretary. The Chairman explained the object of the meeting to be, to take the sense of the officers of this regiment relative to the change of our title. On motion of Lieut. Phippen, Capts. R. J. Ashe, W. W. McDowell, and Lieut. B. R. Huske were appointed a committee to draft resolutions for the action of the meeting. The committee withdrew, and in a short time returned and reported the following preamble and resolutions, which were unanimously adopted, and ordered to be forwarded to the Richmond Dispatch. and Examiner, the North Carolina State papers, and the Charleston Mercury, for publication: Whereas, on the 28th September, A.
