Bowman was also sexton in 1793. 1792 It was voted to divide the schools into three wards, and a committee of nine was chosen to take the charge of said schools and regulate the same. Among the few papers left by my father, is a report, taken down at the time by him, as secretary, of the meeting held Feb. 24, 1792, at Thomas Green's School House, in regard to support of schools, the purchasing a small library, and whether the meetings shall be held in turn in each of the wings: Francis Locke was moderator.
