πῶς δὲ καὶ ὁρμήσειαν ἄν ποτε πολέμιοι πρὸς τὰ μέταλλα; ἀπέχει μὲν γὰρ δήπου τῶν ἀργυρείων ἡ ἐγγύτατα πόλις Μέγαρα πολὺ πλέον τῶν πεντακοσίων σταδίων: ἀπέχει δὲ ἡ μετὰ ταῦτα πλησιαίτατα Θῆβαι πολὺ πλέον τῶν ἑξακοσίων.
